Improve Your Quality of Sleep
If you find yourself tossing and turning all night, and wake up more exhausted than when you went to bed, you may need to adjust your nighttime routine. Bustle says that there are ways to improve your sleep just by how you get ready for bed.
- Go to sleep at the same time everyday which can seem impossible on the weekends to turn in at the same time that you do during the week, but establishing a pattern is important. Training your mind and body to know when it is time for bed will improve your sleep immensely.
- Reserve your bed for sleep and nothing else. Reading in bed, watching television in bed, eating in bed, all of these things can confuse your mind about what it is suppose to be doing. Eat in the dining room, read in the office, and sleep in the bedroom!
- Unplug because while you might think that watching television or mindlessly scrolling through Facebook relaxes you before bed, the truth is that the light from the screens can prevent you from producing melatonin which will hurt your quality of sleep.
The next day can feel just awful if you don't get a good night's sleep. Making a routine for yourself the night before can help you get great sleep and set you up for success!
