Today is World Mental Health Day, and there are so many ways in which you can show your support. Whether you are battling with your own mental health issues or not, it is so, so important to raise awareness to help those battling their own problems.

  • Advocate to help make workplace (and school) wellness programs a thing. Some places of businesses can implement little things to help their employees take care of their mental health. Think about quiet rooms for meditation or healthy snacks in the break room to encourage nutrition which can help with overall well-being.
  • Practice being kind to those around you: friends, family members, strangers, it's all the same and everyone deserves to have kindness shown to them. If you're having a bad day, and a stranger shows you some random act of kindness, that can turn your whole day around. It can be that simple.
  • Offer support if there is anyone you know needing mental health support. And don't be afraid to just let people around you know that you're there to listen to them because you never know who in your life might need support without visibly showing it. You might not be able to fix their problems, but sometimes all someone needs is just someone to listen to them.

World Mental Health Day is a great way to raise awareness to help those struggling. Showing your support for the day is one way you can help support those around you that might be in need of some support themselves.
