The sun gets a bad reputation for the damage it can do to our skin if we don't keep ourselves protected. Bustle explains that getting some sun everyday is actually good for you and recommended! Here are some of the reasons why.

  • It keeps your hair healthy because it gives your hair the vitamin D that it needs to keep it strong. You can get vitamin D through your diet, but stepping outside for a few minutes a day is easily doable.
  • It improves your mood because staying pent up all day isn't good for you. Vitamin D (again!) helps to relieve some stress that you may have as well.
  • Your teeth become stronger because of that D vitamin again! What doesn't it do? Once you reach adulthood, your teeth need proper nutrition like vitamin D and calcium in order to keep them strong.
  • Your skin stays healthy because it's not that the sun is bad for your skin, it's that too much sun can be harmful. Some sun, as studies have shown, contributes to cell renewal and tissue repair.

As the weather gets nicer in the coming weeks, it should be much easier for all of us to get out in the sun and soak up some vitamin D.
