Ways Your Body May Change When You Become A Vegetarian
If your New Year's resolution was to become a vegetarian, and you're still at it after a month, then you might have noticed some changes to your body now that you're no longer eating meat. Bustle says that a change in your diet can certainly affect how you feel physically and mentally.
- Your mood might improve because there are chemicals produced from animal sources, specifically arachidonic acid, that have been linked to mood disturbances. While sleep, exercise and social factors can all affect your mood, so can what you eat!
- You might notice more energy which could be because you are getting more vitamins and antioxidants from your food now that you are eating more vegetables and fruits. Cool, huh?
- You may notice clearer skin now that you aren't eating meat because fruits and vegetables have a higher water content and (again) more vitamins and minerals than animal meat which can help reduce your risk for acne.
Don't get me wrong, most cookies and chips and other "junk" food are also considered vegetarian, so you may not be feeling as great as this would suggest, but if you're implementing more vegetation into your diet, you're bound to feel great about yourself!
