Can we all agree that Mondays seem to drag on forever? Bustle, and clinical social worker, Ben Barrett, explain that there are ways to feel more energized during the day which I'm sure we all need on this particularly draining Monday.

  • Optimize your snacks as some foods can bring down your energy levels while others can boost your mood and help you make it to the end of the work day. Healthy fats and complex carbohydrates can give you the energy you need, so trying a slice of whole wheat bread with peanut butter or an apple with some sharp white cheddar (trust me).
  • Don't eat late at night if you can help it. Eating late at night steals the energy that you would otherwise get from that food when you're sleeping almost immediately after eating. Use your food to your advantage and eat to energize your body.
  • Drink water as soon as you wake up because you're likely dehydrated after sleeping for eight hours. Dehydration can make you feel sluggish and tired, so making sure that you drink water first thing in the morning can help give you a boost of energy.

Mondays are the worst, so if you can avoid being overly tired and more energized than normal, then you might just make it through this Monday alive.
