If you have been talking to someone for a while now, and you've finally scored a first date with them, you must be nervous about it, right? Bustle says that there are some great tricks to help you relax before your date arrives if you're feeling a little bit nervous.

  • Give yourself some perspective because whether this is the first of many dates or only a one-time thing, this person has already agreed to spend some time with you hoping to get to know you, and that's awesome!
  • Distract yourself if your nerves are going a mile-a-minute by watching a show, or working on a puzzle in the newspaper. If you're not thinking about the date which is causing you to feel anxious, then you are bound to relax and feel better in time for when your date comes to pick you up.
  • Cuddle up with your pet who already loves you and wants your attention. You're naturally going to feel better once your pet does something silly and gets you laughing. Seriously, laughter is the best medicine!

A first date where you're tense and nervous will not be enjoyable for you or your date, so take a few deep breaths and remember, this person already said yes to wanting to take you out. That's half the battle!
