No one really wants to think about what will happen to us as we age, but as we see our grandparents and our parents get up there in numbers, it dawns on us that one day that will be you and I as well. Bustle has a few ways that we can work on making sure we won't lose our memory when we get older.

  • Keeping an active lifestyle because experts are now suggesting that an essential part to retaining your memory is to exercise because it keeps the blood flowing to your brain.
  • Keeping your blood sugar low even if you don't have diabetes or high blood sugar problems, keeping your blood sugar levels low could help prevent memory problems later in life.
  • Getting enough sleep which is showing an incredibly strong correlation between sleep, memory and cognitive function. So while it might ruin a party to leave early and hit the hay, it'll help you out in the long run.

Keep these habits in mind as you begin to think about the future and your health as you age. Nothing is worse than wishing you had done something that you didn't do!
