Good quality sleep is so important to your health, but do you often wake up in the middle of the night covered in sweat? What's up with that? Bustle, and certified sleep science coach, Bill Fish, explains that there are ways to change this uncomfortable habit.

  • Avoid eating right before bed because some foods increase your body temperature such as spicy or sugary foods which can affect the likelihood of you sweating in your sleep.
  • Avoid caffeine before bed as well as it is a stimulant which increases the sympathetic nervous system and that can lead to night sweating as well. Essentially giving your body a few hours before eating or drinking before going to bed will likely allow you to have a better night's sleep.
  • Get enough exercise during the day as your lifestyle habits are so important to insure you get good sleep and avoid sweating in the middle of the night. Making sure that you move around as often as possible can help you be sufficiently tired come nighttime.

Being uncomfortable at night from waking up covered in sweat can interrupt and ruin your sleep. Having sufficient sleep and quality sleep is so important for your health, and so you should try to remedy night sweating if that is affecting the quality of your sleep at night.
