Man Faces Felony Weapon Charges After Shots Fired in Union Center
A Union Center man faces several felony charges after a dispute and a report of shots fired.
Authorities say 20-year-old Carson Vanco was arrested after an investigation into Sunday's incident on Spring Street.
Vanco was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He also was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of stolen property and manufacturing methamphetamine.
According to New York State Police, investigators seized illegal firearms, including an assault rifle and a disguised homemade gun. Vanco also was found to be in possession of brass knuckles and methamphetamine.
Vanco was arraigned and sent to Broome County Jail without bail.
State police say it is unlawful to discharge a gun within 500 feet of an occupied building.
