Shots Fired Around Student Housing in Downtown Binghamton

Binghamton Police are investigating a shots fired incident in the heart of downtown and in the thick of student housing developments in the district.

City Police reports shots were fired in what is known as Commercial Alley that runs parallel to State Street between the parking garage and Court Street.

Few details are being released but authorities say shots rang out at around quarter of 11 Sunday night, April 4 and "a couple injuries" were reported.

No other information about the number of shots fired, number of people involved or severity of injuries was available.

As of 2:30 in the morning April 5 there was no indication of any problems in the area with no evidence of crime tape or police presence. The only activity was a woman taking her dog out.
