Old Fashioned Sleep Hacks That Work
Sleep is one thing that I don't get enough of, no matter how much I try, some night I just toss and turn for hours. Bustle says that there are some great old-fashioned sleeping hacks that actually work... I'll give anything a try!
- Two-shift sleeping where you go to bed at dusk and sleep for a few hours, wake up in the middle of the night to read, have sex, or whatever you feel like, and then return to bed and sleep until the morning. Before electric lights and a regulated work day, this was how people normally slept.
- Napping every day is something that I can definitely get behind if we wanted to start bringing that back. Napping regularly has been shown to reduce heart issues as well as lower blood pressure.
- Drinking (almond) milk before bed as warm milk (dairy or non-dairy) as soothing and calming associations tied to it, so you can more easily relax and feel comfortable as you drift off to sleep.
Whatever hack you decide to try, I hope that you and I both find it easier to fall asleep than we currently do.
