The holidays are here. And, other than money, the most stressful thing is eating too much. Here is an easy way to eat less.

Don't worry. It doesn't involve doing anything crazy like only eating veggies or drinking a case of water before you eat.

Just turn off the television. According to the Telegraph, it's called the "crunch effect." You're likely to eat less if you are conscious of the sound your food makes while you're eating.

The noise from a TV show can mask that noise, which is nature's way of keeping your food intake in check.

"Sound is typically labeled as the forgotten food sense. These are the sounds your teeth and mouth make as you chew, chomp and crunch."

The study also says to be mindful not only of the taste and physical appearance of food, but also of the sound it makes. That sound can help "nudge" you to eat less.
