Your Eating Habits Can Affect Your Fertility
Your age, lifestyle choices such as smoking, your weight can all affect your fertility one way or another. Bustle says that your eating choices can also play a major role in whether or not you are able to conceive a child.
- Eating foods that cause an allergic reaction can spike your body temperature, and for some women, charting your body's temperature can show them when they are most and least fertile. An allergic reaction can change their body temperature enough to lengthen their cycle or even prevent ovulation.
- Eating more fish and vegetables and following closely to a Mediterranean-like diet has been known to boost the success rate of in vitro fertilization (ivf), so it likely helps with one's natural fertility as well when trying to get pregnant. If that is your goal, then it's worth a shot!
- The type of milk that you drink could be a factor as well as to how fertile you are. Skim (fat-free) milk has been associated with infertility while whole milk or higher fat milks are known to be better for fertility.
Whether you are actively trying to become a parent, or thinking that maybe in the next couple of years that is something that you'll want, it is good to be aware just how much what you eat plays a role in your fertility.
