You May Not Know What Your Partner Wants You To Say
I'm sure that if you have been with your partner for a while, you may not always say things out loud that they really need to hear from you. Bustle, and therapist Jordan Madison, believe that there are some things you need to keep saying to your partner as if you two have only just recently gotten together.
- "Thank you" can never really be overused in a relationship because you should always be grateful for the things that your partner does to help you. Since moving in with my fiancé, I have yet to need to mow our lawn, shovel our driveway or do almost anything outside because he takes care of it. That is something to be appreciative of!
- "How can I help you?" whether you know how to do what your partner is trying to do or not, trying to be of some assistance to them (even if you are just holding the flashlight while they work under the sink) can be so helpful and show them just how much you care.
- "You're awesome" because a little pick-me-up from someone who you admire can mean more to your partner than hearing it from a stranger. A compliment can never hurt either, so remind your significant other just how much you like them.
You may not know what your partner wants you to say to them without having to ask them, but gratitude and a reminding them of how much you love them is always a good idea.
