Whether I go to bed at 10pm or 3am, I usually wake up just as tired as when I lay down and go to bed. Bustle says that there are some reasons as to why that might be, and if you're like me, there might be a solution to the constant grogginess!

  • Light in the room which could be coming in from a window or the screen of a cell phone or television. Any light could disrupt your sleep patterns and leave you tired the next day. Get black-out curtains and turn off your electronics before you go to bed at light.
  • Pain in your body can keep you up at night or wake you up in the middle of the night. You will have to address the pain before you will likely be able to get your sleep back in order. Hopefully that just means a good back massage or a simple ibuprofen remedy for you and nothing more.
  •  Frequent bathroom trips might be the culprit if you're drinking too much water/tea/decaffeinated coffee before bed. If you try to limit late night liquids, you should be able to sleep until morning.

Whatever it is that disrupts your sleep every night, there is usually an answer as to why and a solution in order to get those precious eight hours back. Sleep is important! Don't let yourself keep going with less than great sleep.
