When in a long-term relationship, it is always good to have routine for every day and traditions for every year that you're together. Bustle, and Megan Little, PhD, LPC, who is a licensed counselor, explains what old-fashioned traditions that you and your partner should bring back!

  • Cooking dinner together every night that you can is a great way to bond with your partner. It also goes without saying that a home cooked meal is infinitely better than any takeout or fast food dinner that you might have instead.
  • Going for an evening stroll as a way to get outside and enjoy some fresh air now that summer is here. You and your partner can talk about your day while getting in a little bit of exercise. A walk after dinner can also help you with digestion, so there's multiple benefits to tying up your laces and walking around the block.
  • Playing a board game instead of turning on the television and binge watching a show is another way to connect with your partner. Friendly competition is a great way to wind down at the end of the day, and maybe the loser can be made to wash the dishes, eh?

Reconnecting with your partner after a long day at the office can be done a number of ways, and hopefully one of them you can implement into your own evenings!
