For a lot of us, finding the motivation to work out is not easy. There are so many excuses that we can come up with, but we have to push through and get to the gym! Brit.Co has a few tricks to get you motivated and to keep you motivated.

  • Choose exercise that requires an appointment such as a fitness class at a local gym, and then treat it like you would any other appointment in your calendar. If you write it down in your planner then you are much less likely to be willing to skip it.
  • Invest in gym clothes that you'll actually want to wear, and you think you will look good in. Wearing old, raggedy clothes will not motivate you, but if you think you look good in what you're wearing, you'll want to put them on more often!
  • Find non-food rewards like a bath to pamper yourself or a guilt-free night where you can read your new book. Once you hit a fitness goal that you've been working towards, finding a reward that feels good (and doesn't ruin your progress) will keep you motivated to hit the next one!

Motivation is half the battle when it comes to working out and getting into shape. Keep it up, and you'll be healthy and lean in no time!
