Eat More Oranges!
Orange juice was always a breakfast drink of choice growing up. Bustle says that your parents may have been on to something encouraging you to drink your juice every morning before school.
Not only have oranges been known forever to have a high dose of vitamin C, but now studies are showing that they reduce the risk of macular degeneration (which is one of the causes for eventual blindness as we age).
Oranges, just like carrots, have a ton of eye-protecting flavonoids (which give these foods their bright orange color). It's being revealed now that just one serving of this citrus fruit could give you all the benefits that you need in order reduce your risk for macular degeneration.
Instead of an apple a day keeping the doctor away, maybe they should be saying an orange a day!
