When you go around the dinner table with your family on Thursday, you may talk about what you're thankful for this year. If you want to give back during this holiday season, Bustle says that there are ways you can be more charitable in the next month or so.

  • Make a donation to one of your favorite charities, perhaps locally to the Broome County Humane Society or nationally to the Salvation Army, either way any donation that you can make will help those (with four paws or two feet) in need a little happier this season.
  • Help feed the hungry by making a non-perishable donation to CHOW or take some time out of your day and help a local food kitchen by preparing and serving food for those in need in our area.
  • Help those affected by the wildfires with the Red Cross as those devastated by the disastrous wildfires in California need more help than most of us right now as people are looking for their loved ones and trying to piece back together their lives as their homes have been destroyed.

This is the time of the year to be thankful, and giving back to help those less fortunate can help you be more thankful in realizing all that you have.
