Union Town Board to Discuss Sotak Investigation
The Town of Union board is planning to act on an investigation into Supervisor Rose Sotak and possibly consider an action that could lead to her removal from office.
The board is scheduled to hold a regular meeting Wednesday evening. On the agenda are several resolutions dealing with a probe focusing on Sotak.
One measure would accept the executive summary of the investigation dated February 7. That report was prepared by attorney Paul Sweeney, who has been retained by the town as a special counsel.
Another resolution refers to a "confidential memo" indicating department heads must have a council member or a designee present for any meeting they have with Sotak.
A separate resolution on the agenda would clear the way for a law firm to review legal issues in a "potential proceeding to remove" Sotak as town supervisor. The town may hire Coughlin and Gerhart to conduct the research needed.
Wednesday night's meeting is to be held at the Town Hall at 3111 East Main Street in Endwell
