Police Find Burglary Suspect Hiding Inside Johnson City Residence
A Johnson City man has been arrested after police officers discovered him hiding inside a village home following a report of a burglary in progress.
Authorities say 30-year-old Ian Mason has been charged with second-degree burglary.
According to police, officers were sent to an occupied residence on CFJ Boulevard around 7:15 a.m. Friday.
Police surrounded the house and eventually entered. Officers took Mason into custody after the found him hiding inside the residence.
Investigators say Mason appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He was found to be in possession of some methamphetamine.
Mason was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance, in addition to the felony burglary count. He was arraigned in Johnson City village court and released.
