The Broome County Office for Aging says the community can support the local program by volunteering to deliver meals or through donations.

In 2018, Broome County’s Meals on Wheels program served over 228,000 meals. That’s a 12% increase from the year before.  The Office for Aging says the program serves meals not only to those who need the service long-term, but also to people who need short help after getting out of the hospital or rehabilitation.

County Executive Jason Garnar is getting in on the act, stepping in to deliver meals Friday morning.

Anyone wishing to donate to the program can go to the Office for Aging website at gobroomecounty.com/senior or the Meals on Wheels of Western Broome website at mealsonwheelsofwesternbroome.com.
