Binghamton’s Project Concern Has More Good News To Share
Happy belated anniversary to Project Concern, 23 Kattelville Road in Chenango Bridge. They celebrated 38 years of helping those who need it the most on April 4th and they continue to make a difference in our community today.
Project Concern is a non-profit clothing bank that serves Broome, Chenango, and Tioga County and anyone that is in need is eligible. They provide clothing, household goods, and basic necessities. It's run by volunteers and they rely 100% on you for their donations.
Like everyone else, they were affected by the coronavirus pandemic and had to shut down for nearly a year. They re-opened in mid-March but you had to make an appointment to visit them.
Good News From Project Concern
Beginning on Tuesday, April 27th, Project Concern will be open for shopping with NO appointment necessary. Shopping hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Shopping is limited to six people at a time, so if you arrive and there are already six people in the house you will have to wait. You won't have to wait long because shoppers will only be allowed 30 minutes for each shopping trip.
The $2 donation price remains the same and it lets you shop for the items you need. The donation helps keep the lights and heat on. State-mandated COVID guidelines will also remain in place.
Donations accepted
If you're looking to make donations to Project Concern, they will be accepted on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. NO tv's computers, printers or tires, and everything should be in good, clean, working condition.
If you happen to have a surplus of pant hangers they could use some but that is the only kind of hanger they need.
