As of 3:34 a.m. April 18, the National Weather Service in Binghamton updated a Hazardous Weather Outlook to say Broome, Tioga, and Cortland Counties had been added to the Winter Storm Warning from 6 p.m. April 18 to noon April 19.

There is a possibility of five to nine inches of snow for the Binghamton metro area for Monday night with another inch during the day on Tuesday.  Higher accumulations are expected in the higher elevations.

The snow fall totals could be adjusted as the system approaches as a track a little more to the west could bring additional accumulation to Binghamton, Owego and Cortland.

NOAA advises travel could be very difficult especially overnight Monday and for the Tuesday morning commute.

Heavy wet snow could also cause scattered power outages.

In the areas expecting the most snow, like Delaware County, snowfall rates could be as high as 1 to 2 inches an hour at times, with isolated areas approaching 3 inches an hour.
