Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! But while it can be spooky and fun for us humans, if we're not careful, it can be deadly for our pets. Bustle says that there are things that we can do in order to keep our pets safe this Halloween.

  • Halloween costumes can look adorable on Fifi or Fido, however it can be uncomfortable and cause stress and anxiety for your pet. Opt for a fun bandana or bowtie to keep them looking festive, but feeling much less upset.
  • Candy is a treat for you, but not for your pet! Chocolate is lethal for dogs and cats, so keep the candy bowl out of reach from them and pay attention to make sure they don't ingest anything that they shouldn't be eating.
  • Front door is going to be opened a lot on Halloween with all of the trick-or-treaters coming to your house, so try to keep your dog out of the room. Otherwise they may be tempted to bolt! With so many people out at night on Halloween, it may be scary and overwhelming for your pet if they get outside, so try to keep them in.

Having fun is great, but we need to make sure that our pets and ourselves are safe and sound this Halloween.
