New York State has just broken its' record of the most cases of the flu since they started recording them. With that in mind, here are some flu prevention tips to keep in mind if you hope to stay healthy this season.

  • Stay home and get comfortable because avoiding crowds and people in general is the best thing you can do to avoid catching the flu. Staying away from large groups of people can definitely up your odds of not getting sick.
  • Get your flu shot! The vaccine can help your body release antibodies to protect you from the most common strains of the flu going around this season. It's best to get your flu shot by the end of October before the flu season starts, but it's not too late to get your flu shot now, so go get it!
  • Keep your hands away from your face just in case you come into contact with a contaminated surface. You risk infection when you touch an infected surface and transfer the virus to your face.

You may be healthy right now, but the flu can strike when you least expect it, so do your best to keep yourself out of harm's way.
