Binghamton Man Charged in Shooting Incident on City’s East Side
Police say a person has been arrested after shots rang out on an East Side street.
The incident happened outside a barber shop at 225 Robinson Street around 3 p.m. Monday.
Four or five people were involved in a dispute that apparently started inside the business.
A person who was in the area reported hearing one gunshot followed by several additional shots in rapid succession.
One shot struck the window of a nearby business. Several shell casings were found by detectives.
Police later arrested 21-year-old Lawrence Martin of Binghamton in connection with the incident. Martin, who had a loaded gun, was found on East Frederick Street. He has been charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Other people involved in the incident also were armed with handguns. Police say they expect to make additional arrests in connection with the shooting.
