What Song Best Describes Your Personality?
Most everyone knows what a walkout song is - it's a song that has special meaning and describes a person or at least the vision a person has of themselves.
Most of the time we only hear walkout songs at weddings when the bride and groom walk into their reception and are introduced for the first time as husband and wife.
Or at a baseball game where the song is actually called a "walk-up" song and is played when the players walk out to the plate.
But what about a life walkout song? This is something that had never crossed my mind until a friend mentioned it to me.
My friend was sitting at a baseball game with his brother-in-law and ended up in a pretty in-depth conversation about how neat it would be for each of us to have a life walkout song play whenever we walk into a room or into a crowd-- a song that would let others know that we've arrived without having to say a word.
What would your life walkout song be? I have so, so many songs that I love and picking just one was awful. I mean, hypothetically, the song you would pick would stay with you for the rest of your life. I asked my husband what he thought my life walkout song should be and wasn't very surprised with his answer (because it's his ringtone for when I call), "Her Eyes" by Pat Monahan.
I mean, my husband isn't wrong. So much of me is packed into that song, but the more I mulled over which song I would pick, I kept coming back to the same one. My mother will be mortified because the song is named after a curse word (sorry, mom), but it isn't so much about the song title (or the first word in the chorus) as it is about all the words that describe the woman in the song.
So there it is. The song that would be my life walkout song would be "Bitch" by Meredith Brooks. I can't stress how much I don't like women being called a "bitch," but I like the description of being a mother, a child, a sinner, a lover, and let's be honest, the woman in the song is clearly a hot mess, which I've got nailed down, too.
