Weird Royal Wedding Traditions!
I'm sure you have already heard the royal news that Prince Harry is now engaged to Meghan Markle, but did you know all these weird royal traditions from around the world? Bustle has put together a list of some of the more bizarre ones.
- Their own wedding cheese with it's own song was once given to the Queen Victoria on her wedding day... in 1840 which was made with milk from 750 cows and weighed over 1120 pounds.
- Laying the bouquet on a soldier's tomb which was started with the current Queen's mother and has continued since including with Princess Kate, so it is safe to assume that Meghan will also do this with her wedding bouquet.
- Sending a pineapple as a wedding present which is what the government of Queensland did when Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip got married in 1947. As well, they also received a turkey from a woman in Brooklyn, New York who feared the Queen was going hungry because of the war rationing still going on in England. How kind!
Royal weddings are very extravagant and often filled with tradition and pageantry. However Prince Harry and Meghan decide to have their wedding, there will no doubt be a lot of eyes (and cameras) on them. I know I'm excited to see it all happen!
