We Will Eat A LOT Of Chicken Wings For The Big Game
The big game is coming up on Sunday and pretty much everyone will be serving up chicken wings for the festivities. But, exactly how many chicken wings will be eaten for the game? Here are the numbers.
It's estimated to be 1.3 Billion-- with a "B"! That's enough to put 600 wings on every seat in all 32 NFL stadiums, enough for every person in the country to have four wings each, enough to stretch between the Broncos' stadium in Denver to the Panthers' stadium in North Carolina 53 times.
All this fascinating info comes courtesy of the National Chicken Council, a non-profit trade group that represents the U.S. chicken industry, which looks into such things this time every year. Seventy-five percent of the wings we'll eat will come from restaurants such as Wingstop and Buffalo Wild Wings, rather than from the supermarket.
By the way, the city with the higher wing sales won the last 4 of the 5 Super Bowl championships. Based on that, NCC predicts that Cam Newton's Panthers will dominate Peyton Manning's Broncos. (Huffington Post)
