‘Ride of Honor’ Motorcycle Ride Will Benefit Binghamton, New York Area Veterans
Whether you ride a motorcycle or you're looking for something fun to do on a sunny Saturday Binghamton afternoon while showing your appreciation for area veterans, this is an event you won't want to miss.
Organized by the Binghamton, Silver Lake, Panyc, 10-Eight, and Rescue chapters of the Punishers LEMC, 'Ride of Honor' will be a show of support and respect for the brave men and women of our community who have selflessly fought for all of the freedoms that we, the citizens of the United States of America, enjoy.
Who Does ‘Ride of Honor’ Benefit and Why?
Money raised from the 'Ride of Honor' will help to send Binghamton area veterans to Washington, D.C. so that they can visit the memorials of their fallen comrades in order to find comfort and closure through the Twin Tiers Honor Flight.
When and Where Is Registration for ‘Ride of Honor?’
Ride of Honor will begin at Broome Community College on Saturday, July 17, with registration at 8:30 a.m. and kickstands up at 10:00 a.m. the ride will conclude at the Lackawanna Train Station in downtown Binghamton at 1:00 p.m.
What Events Will There Be at the Lackawanna Train Station?
At the train station, there will be food trucks and food vendors, a silent auction, and a classic car show with cars from the Mustang Club, Classic Car Club, and Corvette Club all beginning at 12:00 p.m. Musical entertainment will be provided by the local band "Ain't Got, Nun." Note: the only form of payment accepted at the train station will be cash.
Is the General Public Invited to the Events at the Lackawanna Train Station?
The public is invited to the events at the Lackawanna Train Station on Lewis Street in Binghamton for delicious food, great music, the classic car and motorcycle show and to bid on the silent auction items from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Every penny raised will be given to the Twin Tiers Honor Flight so they can escort our veterans to Washington, D.C.
How Do I Participate as a Rider in Ride of Honor?
Anyone wishing to participate in the Ride of Honor motorcycle ride should meet at Broome Community College at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 17 for registration. Kickstands up will be at 10:00 a.m. and the ride will travel to the Veterans Home in Oxford, returning to the Lackawanna Train Station on Henry Street in Binghamton at approximately 1:00 p.m. Please bring cash as that will be the only form of payment accepted for meals, auction, etc.
What Is the Cost To Participate in Ride of Honor?
The cost to participate in 'Ride of Honor' is $20.00 per bike and $10.00 per passenger. This cost does not include a meal. Please plan to pay in cash.
