Public Places in Broome County to Stay Warm
According to WBNG, The Broome County YMCA is opening their doors for people that need a warm place to sleep. Even if you're heating system is struggling to keep your house warm, you can visit the YMCA and stay there for free.
With the Arctic air we are experiencing in the Binghamton area, the wind chills expected to dip close to 35 degrees below tonight, a lot of people's furnaces might have a hard time keeping living spaces at a comfortable temperature.
The Broome County Health Department has issued a list of public places where residents can go to get out of the cold. The Health Department recommends that residents check with the establishments before visiting, to make sure they are open. Phone numbers have been provided, so those in need can call for their hours of operation.
