Lies That Everyone Tells

I don't know many people that would admit to me that they are lying, or that they like to lie, but we all know that there are some lies that all people tell at some point in their lives. Bustle came up with a few of these little white lies, and I'm curious to know who would confess to telling them.

• "It wasn't that expensive!" I'm sure that we've all had to lie to our partner or ourselves about a purchase that was a little extravagant, and that's okay as long as the bills get paid at the end of the month, right?
•  "I didn't see your text!" usually just means that you forgot to respond to it, or you were purposefully ignoring it. They know that you saw it, most cell phones and mobile texting platforms show read receipts these days, so this one is a little harder to pull off than some other white lies.
• "I'm soooo over them!" And that could be true, but if someone has to ask you if you're over your ex-partner, the odds are good that you might still be hung up. In the words of Dua Lipa, " if you're under him, you ain't getting over him". I'm only just saying.

Whether we tell these lies to make ourselves feel better or someone else feel better, sometimes honesty can be the best policy. Own that purchase you made or those feelings that you're having!
