If You Are A Pet Owner You Want To Work For One Of These Companies

My wife and I had to put her dog down right before we got married, and it is easily one of the hardest things that someone has to do. People take the love of their pets very seriously.

Apparently there are some companies that are starting to offer people "pet bereavement days" off work if their pet dies.  And yet we all still have to work tomorrow on St. Patrick's Day.  What's up with that?

Believe it or not, there are at least three national companies that offer pet bereavement.

A software company called VM Ware, a healthcare company called Maxwell Health, and Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants all give a few paid days off to deal with your emotions after your dog or cat passes away.

And maybe it's necessary, because a survey found 30% of people who lost pets say they couldn't function right at work afterward. (CBS 4 - Miami)

I think this is a great idea. If you are a pet owner I hope your company makes this happen!
