Whether you're out celebrating a great milestone with your company, or you're at the work holiday party, there is definitely a threshold for how much you should drink with your coworkers.

Halloween parties are making their rounds in different social groups (one this weekend, one the weekend after Halloween) and one of my coworkers is hosting one this week. It's so exciting to be invited, but it can be a little nerve wracking!

The safe bet when mixing alcohol and your professional career is to stick to two drinks (or one drink per hour if it's a long affair). You don't want to get drunk and embarrass yourself. You may not get fired for your off-hours conduct (unless you do something illegal), but you spend eight hours a day with these people, so you don't want to be known for something you did when you got drunk at the office party.

Also, the last thing you want to do is show up late to work the next day because you have a hangover. Play it smart by staying sober. I promise, it will still be a fun night!
