Hotel Fight and Slashing Investigated in Dickinson

Broome County Sheriff’s officials are investigating a fight at a hotel in the Town of Dickinson involving at least five people during which two of those people were stabbed.

Investigators say the two groups of people knew each other when the fight broke out at the hotel on Old Front Street at 3:20 p.m. August 24.

Officials say during the altercation, 34 year old Kareem Gibson of Binghamton reportedly ambushed one of the groups of combatants with a knife as they left the hotel.  Two of those people suffered several stab and slash wounds and were taken to Wilson Hospital by private vehicle.  They were admitted for observation.

Gibson is charged with two felony counts of assault and was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
