Golf Courses Doubling as Holiday Wonderlands

Remember the Hometown Holiday Lights Festival that used to be held at Otsiningo Park every holiday season? Picture that, just 20 times larger.

There are a couple of golf courses in Northeast Pennsylvania, that once the golf season is over, turn into winter wonderlands. One of the golf courses is close to the Binghamton Area and that would be Tall Pines Golf Course. Chris and I are going with a couple of friends this Saturday night to check that out.

This past Saturday, we stopped to visit one of my sisters in Carbondale. While we were there, we decided to take a ride to Tunkhannock to go see the Festival of Lights at Stonehedge Golf Course.

It is approximately a two mile drive through the golf course that features millions of lights. They had lit up displays from The Wizard of Oz, the Peanuts Gang, zoo animals, the movie Cars, Toy Story, and many more. Stonehedge also had two tunnels made out of lights to drive through.

Being that we went on the weekend it was $30 a car load. It took us about 45 minutes to drive through the whole display and afterwards we parked our car and went inside for refreshments including a S'mores Kit. They had a couple of fires burning outside so you could take your S'mores kit and roast your own marshmallow.

From Binghamton it would probably take you about an hour and 15 minutes to get to the golf course, which is just Northwest of Scranton, just outside of Clarks Summit.

Chris and I, along with my sister Gert, her husband Ed, and their dog Max enjoyed ourselves at the Festival of Lights at Stonehedge.

Now Chris and I are definitely looking forward to this weekend as we check out Tall Pines Forest of Lights at Tall Pines Golf Course.
