New York Family Breaks World Christmas Light Record–700,000 Lights
Think about if one bulb goes out on these.
You take all this time each year to untangle all of your lights, test them all to make sure that they are all working and then hang them all. It takes some serious time. Now imagine your home with nearly 700,000 lights on it.
That is insane.
The Gay family in Lagrangeville, New York (which is right outside of Poughkeepsie) has broken their own Guinness Book of World Record with putting up 686,526 lights on their residential property. They say it takes months and months to put up all of the lights. But, I am sure a lot of dads out there are wondering the same question: what could the electric bill possibly be?
The family has SO many visitors from all over the place, so they also try to raise some money in the process for charity. The biggest organization that benefits is their local fire department. Over 500,000 dollars is expected to be raised this holiday season. They invite you to come take a look at their house, too! Where is the best Christmas light display in New York.....errrr....the world?

The lights will start at 4:45 p.m. every single day and they end at 9:30 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays, and at 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
You have to take a look at their Christmas lights display because it is wild.
The Gay family actually broke their own record. Their previous world record was 601,736 lights and finally decided to beat that this year.
