I am that one person that still thinks that if we didn't have computers, everything would be ok. I know. I'm old. But, here is a clever way hackers are getting your information.

And, the worst part is they don't even need your password. According to Popular Mechanics, hackers are getting your information by setting up Wi-Fi networks and giving them names like Google, Starbucks, or attwifi.

Of course, we all think it's a legitimate network, the device automatically connects and, voila, the bad guys have all of our data on our computer.

"The easiest way to avoid this is to keep Wi-Fi turned off until you need it."

I know it's inconvenient but experts recommend going to the settings on your device and turn off the "auto-join" setting on every network with a generic name.
