Couples Who Watch Romantic Comedies Together Are Less Likely to Break Up

When it comes to date night, what is your favorite type of movie to go see? Is it an action movie a horror film a comedy or romance?

Most guys would probably pick an action movie or thriller where women tend to pick more of the sappy romance movies. Well guys, maybe you want to get on board and start watching those sappy romance movies because they could actually help secure your relationship!

Researchers at the University of Rochester and UCLA studied 174 newly married couples. They found that the couples who watched five romantic comedies or romantic dramas together per month were half as likely to get divorced within the first three years of marriage.

24% of the couples in the study who did not watch romantic movies ended up getting divorced within three years compared to 11% of the couples who did watch romantic movies.
So bottom line let her pick the movies! And stop complaining when she picks a sappy romantic movie to watch because it could actually help improve your relationship.
