Braking Glitch Recalls Hundreds of Thousands of Pick-Ups SUVs
There is another recall looming. This time it affects over six hundred thousand pick-up trucks and SUVs. The claim states there could be a glitch with the brakes. According to CBS 6 News, General Motors is claiming that a software error could make the braking system activate in over six hundred thousand four-wheel-drive pick-up trucks and SUVs. This could increase the risk of a crash.
The vehicles that are on the recall list are, 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, 2015-2020 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2014-2018 GMC Sierra 1500 and 2015-2020 GMC Yukon models. Even though no accidents have been reported, it affects six hundred fifty-three thousand three hundred seventy vehicles worldwide.
The software is triggered but the wheel-speed sensor which causes the breaking on the opposite wheel unintentionally. The vehicle would pull to one side which increases the risk of an accident to occur. General Motors states that the vehicles can be driven in two-wheel drive mode until the vehicle can be serviced. They will reprogram the software free of charge.
