Andrew Lou Who: ‘Covid is the Grinch’
Last week before Thanksgiving, Andrew Cuomo told us "Don't be a turkey...nobody wants to be the turkey on Thanksgiving." If nothing else, it was another memorable way to remind us all to stay under his 10 person limit and to wear a mask. It's along the same vein as his daily "Don't be stupid!" reminders. He doubled down on the turkey comments by showing up at one of his daily pressers with Covid masks that had the message "Don't be a turkey" complete with Tom Turkey on the mask. You can't make this stuff up. Whether it worked or not, I have no clue. Covid cases are up throughout the counties here in the Capital Region and while most people are heeding the warnings and trying to do the best they can, clearly something isn't working.
On Monday Cuomo pulled another gadget out of his Covid bag of tricks, this time in regards to Christmas and the holiday season. His latest message warned that Covid is to our immune system as the Grinch is to Christmas in Whoville. During Monday's daily press conference, the Gov told us, "COVID is the Grinch... And the COVID Grinch is an opportunist, and the COVID Grinch sees this as the season of viral transmission. All those things that the holiday season brings.”
I don't know if Cuomo plans on doubling down on the Grinch comments in his next daily press conference, but if he does (and he's looking for a little more content to put on his screen) he's free to use this:
You're a mean one, Covid Grinch
You really are a heel
Now Cuomo has to track us, he's watching us for real, Covid Grinch
He's staring through window while eat our Thanksgiving meal.
[Verse 2]
You're a monster, Covid Grinch.
And now Andy's out of control
We get daily reminders, have different colored zones, Covid Grinch
This sh*t's been going on for 39.5 weeks in a row!
