Barton Man Killed in Tioga County Crash

A Tioga County man is dead following a crash on Route 17-C early in the morning of May 27.

Sheriff’s officials say 21-year-old Jason Sherman of Barton was driving in the Town of Tioga at around 12:19 a.m. Thursday when the vehicle he was operating crashed and he was ejected.

Officials say Deputies and members of the public started life saving measures before medics arrived.

Authorities say Sherman was transported by Tioga Center Ambulance to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre where he passed away a short time later.

The investigation is continuing.

Tioga County Sheriff's officials were assisted at the scene by New York State Police, the Tioga Center Fire Department, Nichols Fire Department, Guthrie Air and Tioga County Crash Investigation Unit.
