A Tioga County resident faces 49 counts of animal cruelty after authorities found dogs, chickens and a miniature pony being kept in poor conditions.

Authorities say 59-year-old Terry Woloszyn of Apalachin was arrested following an investigation into animal abuse on Pennsylvania Avenue in the town of Owego.

In addition to the animal cruelty counts, Woloszyn was charged with 33 counts of harboring an unlicensed dog.

According to a news release, 33 dogs, 15 chickens and a pony were seized as a result of the investigation. The animals were allegedly left without proper sustenance and a clean living environment.

Woloszyn was issued appearance tickets for Owego town court.

The Tioga County Sheriff's Office said it is accepting donations to help cover the cost of the care and medicine for the animals.
