For anyone who's been single for a while, I'm sure that you've heard someone tell you that it is better to be single than in a bad relationship. You may have rolled your eyes at them, but Bustle reveals that this may be true! A bad relationship could very well be detrimental to your health.

Researchers from both the University of Michigan and the University of Nevada followed heterosexual couples for the first 16 years of their marriages. What they found was that disagreements and arguments between the partners in these marriages was found to have negative effects on both men and women.

Interestingly enough though, conflict between the spouses did tend to do more harm to the men's health than the women's. From having trouble sleeping after an argument to problems at work, more disagreements ultimately meant more health problems.

So even though you may be out there dating and looking for "the one", that one person may hurt your health in the end and drive you mad (but that's all relationships, right?).
