Your Old Disney VHS Tapes Could Be Worth Big Money
You know when every Disney movie came out on VHS, you had to buy it, but then, we moved on to DVDs and then streaming. Now, you have a ton of Disney VHS tapes and don't know what to do with them, right? I have good news for you!
A little over a year ago, I wrote how your Disney DVDs, or at least certain ones in particular, may be worth some money. That's probably still true but DVDs don't take up a ton of space. My Mom still has a couple of cabinets that are filled with all kinds of Disney VHS tapes in that huge plastic container.
I just saw on LadBible that these VHS tapes are the in thing to sell right now. According to their website, if you have Disney's original Aladdin (especially with the new movie that came out), some people are selling them for $17,500, as well as the original The Little Mermaid.
Some people are looking specifically for what sellers are starting to call "black diamond" tapes, or those that were released between 1984 and 1993. Those will most likely have a "classics" logo somewhere on the spine.
Granted, these projections are from Ebay where people tend to inflate the worth of some of their products. For example, you can find some of these tapes on there for a reasonable price as well. Here's my thought, though, if they're just collecting dust in a cabinet or a box, put it up online for an inflated price and who knows, maybe you'll get it and Peter Pan can pay for your kid's college education!
