The next time you get on a Maid of the Mist boat, it will be powered by an all-electric motor!

The fall is here and it is almost time for the boats to be put away for the cold weather seasons that are about to arrive. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be prepared for next season when summer comes around here in Western New York and along the border with Niagara Falls Canada.

It is an exciting time for those who are part of the Maid of the Mist organization as they now have all-electric boats to haul passengers to the splash zone of the thundering water from Niagara Falls.

The Maid of the Mist is one of those traditions that you just have to take part in if you come to the Western New York area. At his show in Buffalo, Eric Church shared his story about his families outing on the Maid of the Mist the afternoon prior to his show. Eric was impressed by how wet you get and how close you get to the actual water when you are taking a trip on the maid of the mist.

The 2022 Maid of the Mist season will be exciting and I can’t wait to take our family on a trip to Niagara Falls. It is one of those places that we may take for granted living here in western New York. But so many people travel and make it part of their bucket list to see the falls up close in a unique way like you do when you were on the maid of the mist.

Big thanks to everyone at the Maid of the Mist for sharing this photo of one of the newest members of the fleet.
