I've never had my car stolen, or even broken into, and I can not imagine the fear that rushes through your mind and body after finding out that you car has been stolen. And unless you catch the robbery quick, your vehicle will be stripped for parts in a matter of hours.

Very rare is it either that a car gets stolen and the robber returns the car to the scene of the crime. Well something very similar to that happened, and that's not even the weirdest part of the story!!

Erin Hatzi discovered her car missing on a Tuesday evening, and she immediately called police and informed them that her red Subaru was gone from her Portland, Oregon driveway.

Erin and her husband turned to their security footage of their driveway and saw a woman approach the vehicle while texting. She barely paid any attention to her surroundings and was constantly texting as she got into the red Subaru and drove away.

While filing a police report, Erin learned from the responding officer that older Subaru models have keys that can be interchangeable...

The next morning as Erin was arriving home from the insurance ageny she saw the responding officer detaining a woman and her red Subaru back in the driveway. Erin checked inside the car and found a note, along with $30! Here's what the note said:

"“Hello, so sorry I stole your car. I sent my friend with my key to pick up my red Subaru at [a nearby home], and she came back with your car. I did not see the car until this morning and I said, ‘That is not my car.’ There is some cash for gas and I more than apologize for the shock and upset this must have caused you.”

After brief questioning, reviewing the security footage and locating the second Subaru, police closed the case.

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!! This story is almost too crazy that it has to be fake! If any of you have older model Subaru's just remember that the keys are interchangeable so if you ever find your car is stolen... it was probably just a mistake haha (or it actually was stolen).
