Ways To Educate Your Children About Veterans Day
Today, Wednesday, November 11th is Veterans Day and it's a day we honor the men and women who have served in the armed forces. We should honor them every day but especially today and here are some of the ways to let them know how much they are appreciated.
Today, we honor all veterans, living and deceased whether they served in wartime or in peacetime. With many of our children learning remotely at home, this is a perfect time to let them know about the importance and sacrifice that has been made for them and us.
Because of our veterans, we get to enjoy the freedoms that we have, When I was going to school, we would say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning. Here's a chance for you and your child to say it together at home. Don't remember the words? Here ya go.
Do you know a veteran? Here's an opportunity to talk to your children about them. If you know their story, tell them about it. Take the time to thank and remember the veterans who have done so much for us...today, tomorrow, and every day.
Something I do every year is to have a moment of silence in remembrance of veterans that have passed or gave their lives for their country. Today at noon, I'll remember Harold "Bud" Skinner and John Priestner. Who will you honor and remember today?
