Volunteers are Preparing Taxes Free for Eligible Broome Residents

The United Way of Broome County is currently signing eligible residents up for its annual free tax preparation service.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance or “VITA” program began preparing taxes January 29.

Appointments are being taken through April 12.

Residents may qualify if their total household income is less than $66,000.  Residents must also live and work in New York State, hold no rental property income and must have no other state income outside of New York.
